Thanksgiving 2009

Patrick James has arrived!

October 31, 2009 and we are loving every minute with him. Spencer is being a great big brother, patting Patrick's head, letting us know when he's crying, bringing mommy burp cloths, pillows and diapers and commiserating with an "ow" when mommy and Patrick are feeding. (He's so observant.) Kris and I are working through the sleepless nights, but surviving. We have had several friends brining meals and family members staying over, which has helped us make it through these last few weeks. Here's to many more happy ones and a great upcoming holiday season!

Fall School Pix

Spencer took fall school pictures last week. The first day the photographer was there, he wanted no parts of it at all. So much for a modeling career. The second day, I had Kris take him in hopes that they would be set up in time for Kris to humor him and get a good smile. Of course, the company wasn't ready, Kris had to go to work and Spencer "tolerated" the nonsense. Oh well, we got half a smile which is better than none.

Down on the Farm

We took Spencer to a little place south of Jasper on Saturday to get a pumpkin. He wasn't interested in the pumpkins, but LOVED the animal cut outs (so did dad)! Can you tell? Baby #2 is still holding out for Halloween and we are all excited for his arrival. Will keep you posted if anything changes.

Pope Floods

Spencer has discovered manipulating his bike with one foot. As well, he has to run and get his "bah-pah" every day when we get home from school to be like Dada.

Playing with Daddy

Last weekend Kris took Spencer into the yard to play ball. He loved kicking the soccer ball with Dada and playing in Mommy's garden. Luckily the mosquitos weren't too bad!

Turning Two!

Spencer's birthday was a quiet affair with family, but he had a blast! Cousin Esther was a great help with opening presents and showing us what to do with them. And of course, teh cupcakes were a huge hit!

Kris' Birthday Bash...

was a great success. Thank you so much to everyone who attended...especially Cindy Jenkins for the AWESOME cake!!!

School Pictures - Spring 2009

Spencer's new school took spring pictures last week. I keep wondering where this child gets his photogenic quality from!?!?? Best of both worlds I guess.

Doggie Kisses

Many of you may find this gross beyong belief...but having grown up with dogs and now having a boy who is really ALL boy, I found this utterly hysterical. To give a little background, we're working on body parts and I taught him his tongue yesterday by having him stick it out. So, yes, this is my fault, but still too funny for words! Enjoy!

Easter with the Allegoods

This past Sunday we spent the afternoon hunting eggs and playing with Cousin Esther in Mimi & Pops Allegood's back yard. The weather was awesome and Spencer had a blast.

Spencer is getting bigger every day.

We haven't updated in a while. Kris is on and off again traveling, but we are all fairing well. We got a new kitchen countertop that I LOVE!! And can't wait for everyone to see it. Spencer and I are going to the gym every afternoon. He loves the kid zone and has made many new friends. This latest video is Spencer learing how to ride his bike. He can't reach the peddles yet, but loves being pushed. Hopefully by this summer, he'll be able to do it on his own.

Our Crash & Burn Daredevil

Spencer took his first header on Wednesday, falling off the sitter's front porch onto her concrete driveway...OUCH. It apparently looks worse than it feels, as he was more ticked than pained when she took him inside to clean it up!

Later when we got home, he apparently forgot all about the earlier spill, trying to ride his lion standing up. Can anyone say future Hollywood professional stuntman?? Good, he can buy us a bigger boat!!

Kris returned from a short trip out to California last night and of course his opinions of Spencer's antics were no surprise! "That's My BOY!"
